Okay this is a new one

The question or riddle is asked and the answer is written in blanks.
With each answer solved, the next riddle answer must contain a letter (or two) from the last answer.

For example

The beginning and a certain button on a controller.

It would become

Next sample riddle
Not one or three, but....

That would become

Start
Two

You can put the letter(s) from the last answer in bold or italic so we know what letters you've used.
Also, we may set a pattern to determine what amount of shown letters for the answers are.

For example 1-2-3

That would mean
Answer 1: "Start" has to have one letter from the last answer showing
(if it's the first answer then choose a random one )
Answer 2: "Two" has to have two letters from the last answer showing
Answer 3: "Etc." has to have three letters from the last answer showing

Then it repeats.

This should also force the riddler to come up with certain words or certain types of riddles.

We'll see how this beginner thread for it will work.
