I reformatted my desktop and when I try to put in the installation disk
I get the blue screen of death and the text says "Hard Error" can't install.

What type of comp do you have and what OS are you trying to install. If you are installing XP you boot from the CD and it will ask if you want to format from there. I suggest you do a thorough format this time as the other must have been a small one and left disk errors.

Maybe your Harddrive is over used or it went bad.
If it's making many unusual noises then it might have gone bad.

Bad hardrive. Usually that's what the bluescreen of death means. If you do something that weakens it or something it doesn't like. Random Shutoffs or USBs can cause errors like this.

what OS are you using? and do you have the start up disk.

Oh you might want to erase the hard drive fully then re-install the OS

You said you reformatted the comp and you get this error when reloading the OS? I'd say it's the hardware.

Sounds like hardware or you have a tricky virus/bug on your harddrive still. Some viruses stay on the harddrive despite formatting.

just save evrething to a disk kill the rest of the PC then re-install evretjhing. gets rid of all spyware and viruses so if ita a virus , hopfully that will fix it.

Dell is sending me a new hardrive.

Dells are very cheap. Are you sure about the new harddrive, Glass?
