Hey guys.

Could you help me find the best rated antivirus program for my computer and email.
I want to put them on as soon as possible.

I'll place a search on it

But I bet it'll be Norton Antivirus 2005.
If you are looking for something professional and heavy duty.

Norton now days is so popular now that hackers know they need to make their viruses immune to it. My dad doesnt believe me but I dont think his Norton has not been working correctly. Doesnt detect like it should.

AVG Anti-Virus free version hasnt let me down and it has constant updates. Look here for more info. Combine that with those Anti-spyware software in the stickied thread in Computer Talk section of this forum. And for extras maybe a software firewall. I can look one up if you want.

EDIT: After looking into it ZoneAlarm seems to be a great firewall. More info click here. And the free version for personal use is here.

Zonealarm is okay but it can get annoying easily.
AVG is much better for antivirus than Norton. Norton is too arrogant for its own good. It does provide antispyware but it seems too fake imho.

Just look at the sticky threads in this subforum Mint.
Those are the best antivirus programs since they are not corporate and not too common.

Norton has some uses.
Their site detects viruses everyday and put it as a bulletin.

I would suggest having 2 antivirus and 2 antispyware so you can have a sort of check and balance. If you can spare the resources then try this.

AVG and Mcaffee(Spl.)

Those work fine.

You can't use Norton and other antivirus at the same time, however you could use 2 antispyware programs.

Try using BitDefender Pro. It catch more viruses than Norton, but it freezes my computer. Maybe I just don't know how to configure it.
