Ironic I'm asking since I'm a mac man.
My friends have been complaining that service pack 2 for windows causes more errors than it fixes.

Anyone know why?

I have no idea, my dad regulates the computer.

If you don't have any fix programs on your computer (google toolbar, etc) then Service Pack 2 should be fine.

SP2 has been known to make existing programs worse or not make them work at all.

It's supposed to fix many of the problems XP has had over the years.
It also makes all of the default windows programs better than before.
(or so they say. )

I don't even mess with that crap anymore.

I'm seeing some reports that SP2 isn't all it's cracked up to be.
I know of at least one guy that got his computer crashed beyond repair because of SP2.

BTW, where the hell are the computer mods!

Some of the lab computers have service pack 2
but there are others that don't.

You gotta wonder if the school knows what it is doing or not.
I've already seen some of the computers with errors or freezes.
